1. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (Extended Edition) [Blu-Ray] (2001)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The Extended Edition of the film adds a half an hour of mostly useful and entertaining material that serves to make the film even stronger than its Oscar-nominated theatrical cut. The Blu-ray boasts excellent picture and audio along with a thorough, nearly exhaustive set of supplements. It’s too bad this release doesn’t feature an option to watch the the

2. Mr. Woodcock (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite the presence of some fine actors and a decent premise, Mr. Woodcock proves almost wholly devoid of laughs. Indeed, it bores much more than it entertains, as it plods through its relatively brief running time ... I can’t find much here to earn a recommendation. Starring Billy Bob Thornton, Seann William Scott. New Line, $28.98, 1/15/2008.

5. You Only Live Twice: Ultimate Edition (1967)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Should folks who already own the prior release pursue this Ultimate Edition? Definitely. It doesn’t add a slew of new extras, but the exclusives are interesting, and the UE presents substantial improvements in terms of picture and audio quality. This edition blows away its predecessor in those areas and is a must have for Bond fanatics. Starring Sean Con

6. A Hard Day's Night (1964)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Probably the best rock movie ever made, it remains bright and funny after almost 40 years.

7. Moonraker [Blu-Ray] (1979)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Unfortunately, that and the other strong supplements aren't enough to redeem Moonraker, for it remains a fairly lame movie. I like the Bond pictures and find enough fun in Moonraker to get me through it, but it's possibly the worst Bond to date. The Blu-ray provides very good picture and sound plus some fine supplements. Despite the poor quality of the f

8. Moonraker: Ultimate Edition (1979)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Should folks who already own the prior release pursue this Ultimate Edition? Yup. In addition to a few new extras, it presents improved picture and audio. This makes for a good upgrade. Starring Roger Moore, Lois Chiles. MGM, $89.98, 12/12/2006.

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: After almost 60 years, A Hard Day's Night remains a lively and witty film that continues to provide an enjoyable experience. Starring John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr. Criterion, $49.95, 1/18/2022.

10. Paul McCartney Really Is Dead: The Last Testament Of George Harrison (2010)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Does Paul McCartney Really Is Dead attempt to seriously investigate the “Paul is Dead” hoax or does it just want to poke fun at that theory? I have to lean toward the latter, but the clumsy, idiotic program doesn’t succeed in that way or any other; it’s relentlessly stupid and absurd. The DVD comes with flawed visuals, decent audio and minor supplements.
